There will probably be more games announced at E3 in June but for the time being here iss Tickles' top ten games to watch that are coming in 2014.

Kirby was the first game that I can remember playing on the NES and is, in my opinion, the best platform game to grace the console. Kirby is returning in to form with Kirby Triple Deluxe. It looks like this will be a great little game.

Tickles Top Ten Games to watch in 2014

10 - Kirby Triple Deluxe (Releases May 2014 on 3DS)

9 - Evolve (Releases Q3 2014 on PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Developed by the team that brought us Left 4 Dead, Evolve takes the premise of L4D and takes it to a whole new level. Four players will have to work together to hunt and kill a gigantic monster, the twist being that the monster is controlled by a fifth player. They call this an asymmetrical multiplayer game. It looks to be shaping up nicely with dynamic changes in gameplay and variations that should give this game a long life.

Set between the events of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings we have a tale of revenge. Shadow of Mordor will see the Talion embark on a journey to avenge the murder of his family. The developers seem to have taken inspiration from the Batman Arkham series and have developed a “Nemesis” system that, if it works as claimed, will make enemies adapt and react to you in different ways if you have fought them before.

8 - Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor (Releases October 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC)

Dragon Age Inquisition is setting the groundwork for taking the franchise in a new, more modern direction. Previous Dragon Age games were pretty fun but replaying them after a few years does make them feel slightly dated. The combat was never really immersive but the new footage we have seen from Inquisition looks to change that.

7 - Dragon Age Inquisition(Releases October 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC)

Elder Scrolls Online is coming to consoles, it will be the first time a “proper” MMO has tried its hand with the mainstream gamer. Sure there have been attempts at them before but none have really taken off. With the launch of the Xbox One and the PS4 it looks like consoles now have the power to contend with the hardcore PC gamer.

6 -Elder Scrolls Online (Releases June 2014 on PS4 and Xbox One)

The original creator of Resident Evil (Shinji Mikami) is coming back to the horror genre. The Evil Within looks to be a very unsettling game indeed. I for one am excited about this and think that after a prolonged hiatus gamers can once again be afraid of the dark.

5 - The Evil Within (Releases August 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC)

Seldom has a game had as much hype piled on it than Ubisoft’s Watchdogs. I personally think this looks like Assassin’s Creed with a Blackberry, and that’s no bad thing. The gameplay clips that have been shown look amazing, the interactivity your character will have with the world around him is incredibly impressive and the multiplayer modes that we got a quick look at this week seem to round off the game brilliantly.

The question is: can the reality live up to the hype after all this time?

4 -  Watchdogs (Releases May 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC)

For those of you living under a rock for the last year, Destiny is the new FPSRPG from Bungie. Not too much has been shown from the game but from what we have seen Destiny looks to be a game to challenge Borderlands. Bungie made an incredible universe to set Halo in and we can assume that Destiny has received the same treatment and the inclusion of flashpoint style multiplayer encounters are set to bring us epic battles.

3 - Destiny (Releases September 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360)

I am VERY excited about Alien Isolation and it only just missed my number one spot. Alien Isolation is an upcoming horror game that has taken inspiration from Ridley Scott’s Alien. There will be no gun battles, no hoard of aliens and no over the top testosterone fuelled antics. You will play as Amanda Ripley, an engineer looking for information on what happened to her mother.

The gameplay that we have seen for the game has captured the

2 - Alien Isolation (Releases October 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC)

Tom Clancy’s The Division is a new Third person shooter with RPG and MMO elements. The storyline is typical Clancy (although for once I don’t think the Russians are to blame). We don’t know too much about this game at the moment but from what I’ve seen it is definitely the game at the top of my wish list. It looks absolutely stunning and we have been told that we will have to manage resources like food, water and medicine. The combat looks to be thrilling, throw in Smartglass compatibility and you have a hell of a game.

1 - The Division (Releases Q4 2014 on PS4 and Xbox One)

very essence of the original movie. The developer have said that they have developed a new kind of AI for the one and only alien in the game. We have been told that the Alien won’t follow any predetermined path but will actively hunt you. I fully intend to get this on the day of release but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to play it at night.
